Hi,

I ran hitman pro, super antispyware, malwarebytes and they removed the trovi files. However, after a while, trovi shows up again (after a few browser restarts). I already did the Windows 8 refresh option, and system restore to before trovi was installed (didn‘t work, trovi somehow turns up again). accidentally did a full factory reset (luckily, made a backup of my files), which should delete all my files and programs and bring this laptop to its factory settings, but no! I install google chrome, and there trovi is back again. It's the most annoying thing ever!! How do I remove it completely?!

I think you can change the startup page, home page settings in chrome and IE. Those antivirus may have removed its malicious components but they haven't changed back your browser settings.

Google Chrome

Change your home page

1. Click the Chrome menu (or wrench icon) at the top of the browser window.

2. Select Settings.

3. In the "Appearance" section, select the Show Home button checkbox.

4. Click Change.

5. Select Open this page and change the web address.

6. Click OK.

Change your startup pages

1. Click the Chrome menu (or wrench icon) at the top of the browser window.

2. Select Settings.

3. In the "On startup" section, select Open a specific page or set of pages.

4. Click Set pages.

5. Add, edit, or delete startup pages.

6. Click OK.

Change the address bar (omnibox) search engine

1. Click the Chrome menu (or wrench icon) at the top of the browser window.

2. Select Settings.

3. In the "Search" section, select your preferred search engine in the drop-down menu.

4. For more options, click Manage search engines.

Internet Explorer

Change your home page

1. Click the gear icon (or Tools menu) at the top of the browser window.

2. Select Internet options.

3. Click the General tab.

4. Change the home page address.

5. Click Apply.

Disable the "New Tab" search page

1. Open a new tab in your browser.

2. Click Restore on the bottom of the page.

Change the address bar search engine (IE 9 and 10)

1. Click the gear icon (or Tools menu) at the top of the browser window.

2. Select Manage add-ons.

3. Select the Search Providers tab.

4. Select your preferred search engine.

5. Click Set as default.
